Three adults were transported to hospital with undetermined traumatic injuries as a result of a two-vehicle collision on the Highway 305 overpass at Highway 11 near Warman on Friday, November 5.

The collision occurred at about 12:30 p.m.

Warman RCMP, Warman Fire Rescue first responders,  Medavie Ambulance and STARS air ambulance were dispatched the scene.

Warman Fire Chief Russ Austin said three adults were transported to hospital. Two were taken by road ambulance and one by STARS helicopter. Seven other people received minor injuries and were assessed and treated at the scene.

Austin said the collision involved a southbound Volkswagen Beetle and an eastbound SUV. He said it appeared the Volkswagen was travelling southbound on Highway 11 and took the off-ramp into Warman. At the intersection with Highway 305, the driver of the Volkswagen apparently made the decision to continue straight south on the Highway 305 exit onto Highway 11 toward Saskatoon instead of turning into Warman. However, when the Volkswagen attempted to cross Highway 305 , it collided with an eastbound SUV.

The impact resulted in the Volkswagen ending up in the ditch. The SUV was also seriously damaged, losing a wheel in the collision.

Warman RCMP issued a news release shortly after 1:00 p.m advising that Highway 305 at the overpass was blocked in both directions while emergency responders attended to the injured. Highway 11, however, remained open throughout the incident. Highway 305 was re-opened to traffic shortly before 2:00 p.m.
