Three people were taken into custody north of Langham after reaching speeds of 170 kilometers during their attempt to flee from police.
Warman RCMP said during the afternoon of Tuesday, September 29, a member of the Rosetown Combined Traffic Services unit attempted to pull over a vehicle that was speeding on Highway 14 near Perdue.
Upon Traffic Services attempt to pull the vehicle over it fled and was doing speeds in excess of 143 kilometers per hour.
No pursuit was initiated at this time as speeding is not a pursuable offence.
The Warman RCMP detachment became involved as the vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on Hwy 14 going towards Saskatoon.
Even though the suspect vehicle was not being pursued its speed reached over 170 kilometers per hour.
Saskatoon Police Service became involved as its Air Services Unit airplane monitoring the attempted stop and located the suspect vehicle.
Air Services continued to provide the RCMP with updates and direction of travel.
The suspect vehicle was located north of Langham when RCMP utilized a spike belt, which was successful in deflating the tires of the car.
The three occupants of the car eventually fled on foot, Saskatoon City Police K9 unit was dispatched to Langham to assist in the track.
Warman RCMP, with the help of Corman Park Police Service, located the three suspects and took them into custody shortly afterward without incident.
The three people involved are known to police and are facing several charges.
Two people are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 30. Charges are pending for another male.
Police charged 25-year-old Theron Fox with the following offenses:
– Flight from Police
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Possession of Property obtained by crime
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
– Resist arrest
Another suspect, 19-year-old Tanisha Taniskishayinew is facing the following charges:
– Possession of property obtained by crime
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
– Fail to comply with release order
– Resist arrest
