The following is the occurrence summary for September 21 – 28.

On September 22 at 6:17 p.m., Corman Park Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Volkswagen Jetta near the intersection of Highway 16 and Lutheran Rd. Police observed the smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle and observed cannabis in clear plastic bags. An investigation was conducted and it was determined that the cannabis was not obtained in a legal manner and it was subsequently seized by police. The driver, a 26-year-old male resident of the Borden area, was found to be at large on conditions that he not possess a cellular telephone relating to charges he is facing in Edmonton. A search of the vehicle revealed that the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was in possession of a cellular device. The man was arrested for breaching his conditions and later released on an appearance notice. He was also issued a summons for possessing illicit cannabis.

On September  23 at 5:00 a.m., Corman Park Police were patrolling in the area of Grasswood Rd. and Clarence Ave. when they observed a blue Mazda 4 parked on the side of the road with some smoke coming from the interior of the vehicle. Police opened the vehicle to determine if anyone was inside and found no one in the vehicle, but the smoke was starting to increase in intensity. Saskatoon Fire was contacted and attended and extinguished the fire inside the vehicle before it destroyed the car. Police investigation later determined that the vehicle had been stolen in Saskatoon and taken out of the city to be set ablaze. The matter is still under investigation. Police have no suspect information at this time.

On September 23  at 10:53 p.m., Corman Park Police observed a black Chev Tahoe being operated on Township Road 362 east of Valley Rd. in the RM of Corman Park. Police noted that the vehicle had a tail light burned out and stopped the vehicle. The driver, a 54-year-old male resident of the Vanscoy area, admitted to consuming one drink of alcohol prior to driving and was given a roadside breath test, which he passed. Further investigation revealed the man to have outstanding warrants from Saskatoon and Warman. The man was wanted on charges of assault, fail to comply with a release order, willful damage, possession of stolen property, three counts of fail to attend court and failing to attend family court. The man was arrested and transported to the Saskatoon Police Service where he was lodged into cells to await a bail hearing.

On September 25 at 12:45 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche driving on Highway 11 at Township Road 400 at a speed of 127 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. Police stopped the vehicle and found the driver, a 32-year-old male resident of the Rosthern area, admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving.  The man advised that he had three or four drinks in the previous four hours. The man was read a breath demand and he provided a sample of breath into an approved screening device which registered a WARN. The man’s driver’s licence was suspended for 72 hours and his vehicle was impounded. The man and the three occupants of his vehicle were dropped off in Hague by police.
