May 6, 1969 – August 20, 2025
On August 20th, 2025, Clayton Charles Chappell passed away at the age of 56, doing what he loved near his beloved farm. Predeceased by his father-in-law Edward Adacsi, and brother-in-law Glen Adacsi, grandparents William and Florence Chappell, Elmer and Harriet McGowen, and nephew Wyatt Ewen. Clayton will be missed and treasured by his wife Brenda of 31 years, his daughters Shayla (Jeff May), and Darby (Brendan Davis), his parents Charles and Pearl Chappell, sisters Yvonne (Barney) Olson, Dianne McTavish, Shawna Chappell, and brother Glenn Chappell, his mother-in-law Dorothy Adacsi, sister-in-law Bonnie (Kevin) Cooke, and Joan Adacsi. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors, and great friends.
Clayton was born on May 6, 1969, to Charles and Pearl Chappell, with four older siblings: Yvonne, Dianne, Shawna, and Glenn. He grew up on the farm near Langham, Saskatchewan. Since he could walk, he had a passion to be a farmer; he loved being outside, working the dirt, being in the shop, and tending to his cows. He was proud of this way of life, and he had even more pride in taking over the family operation to continue on its legacy. One of his greatest prides was receiving the “Century Farm Award”, his Ford Trucks, and Allis-Chalmers tractors. When Clayton wasn’t farming, he spent his fair share of time at the rink playing hockey, and at the ball diamond playing fastball with his many teams.
For those who knew Clayton, they knew that he was never in a hurry. He always made time for family, friends, neighbours, and new people he might meet along the way. He loved the good old days of an auction sale, having “team meetings”, having “one more and that’s it”, and “going on fact-finding missions”. He was a simple man who loved his “dollies”, family, friends, farming, and community. His words of wisdom and his presence will be deeply missed by many.
