Rempel, Peter

July 29th, 1934 – April 26, 2026

Peter Rempel was a beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle. He passed away peacefully in the afternoon on April 26th, 2026, at Saskatoon City Hospital with his sons by his bedside.

Peter was born on July 29th, 1934, in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. Peter attended Scarpe School until he moved to Manitoba. He attended Red River College and got his welding ticket. He worked at a lot of places in his lifetime, working on the farm at Homer Fehr and working at places like Morris Manufacturing in Minnedosa, then moving to Warman, Saskatchewan, in 1973 and started working at Smith Rolles as a welder. His last job he worked was at Flexi-Coil as a welder, then moved over to forklift operator, unloading steel off the trailers

Peter is survived by his sons, Mervin and Dennis. Peter and Minnie got married on July 28, 1962, in Waldersee, Manitoba. Peter is survived by his brothers and sisters, George (Effie) Rempel, Mary (Bill) Houghton, John (Pat Menec) Rempel, Frank (Kathy) Rempel, Neil (Leona) Rempel, Maggie (Deland) Duffield, Rebecca (Ted) Schroeder, Henry (Anna) Rempel, Sarah (Rempel) Nickel, and Betty (Andy) Penner. In-laws Mary Rempel (Neudorf), along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Minnie (Kramer) Rempel, his parents Gerhard & Anna (Dyck) Rempel, mother/aunt Maria (Dyck) Rempel, brother Isaac, and sisters Tina (Rempel) Doerksen and Margaret (Rempel) Fast. Brother-in-law Jacob Fast & Pete Nickel.

Peter will be greatly missed for his smile and sense of humor.

A very special thanks to all the staff at Healthy Life Care Home for their excellent care and kindness for the last couple of years that dad was there that will be missed. He really loved it there; the staff there was amazing. Very special thanks go to the Saskatoon City Hospital staff on the 6300 ward for the care of Dad.

There will be a come-and-go viewing on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Cherished Memories Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Peter’s Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Cherished Memories Funeral Home, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, SK. Internment will follow Peter’s Funeral Service in the Warman Memorial Gardens. Please join the family for lunch following the interment.
