By CHIEF ROB DUTTCHEN, Corman Park Police Service

Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) members were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 219 near Cartwright Street on January 14, 2026. A blue Chrysler 300 was observed travelling at a high rate of speed, confirmed at 117 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The traffic stop revealed the driver had a suspended licence and was wanted by the Saskatoon Police Service for a traffic-related warrant.

The driver was released on a Recognizance to attend court in relation to the warrant. Offence notices were issued for speeding, driving while suspended, and exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h. A second driver’s licence suspension was also imposed, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On January 15, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., CPPS responded to a three-vehicle collision involving a moose near Highway 5 and Range Road 3041. The moose was initially struck by a westbound vehicle, causing it to enter the eastbound lanes, where it was struck again by two successive vehicles. The moose succumbed to its injuries, and two of the three vehicles were rendered inoperable as a result of the collision.

That same day, during a high-wind event, CPPS members responded to multiple reports of road hazards caused by fallen trees and debris throughout the RM. Officers were kept busy clearing roadways of obstructions.

CPPS extends its thanks to members of the public and property owners who assisted officers in keeping roads safe and clear of hazards.

Early in the evening on January 18, 2026, a CPPS member conducting patrol near Highway 12 and Township Road 380 observed a vehicle with malfunctioning taillights. A traffic stop was initiated, and two offence notices, along with a mechanical fitness inspection order, were issued to the driver.

Later that evening, CPPS members joined units from Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan for a joint enforcement initiative on Highway 16. During the hour-long operation, 18 offence notices were issued, including one 72-hour administrative licence suspension and vehicle impoundment for a driver whose blood alcohol concentration was between 40 mg% and 80 mg%.
