The Warman Wolverines senior girls’ basketball team hosted their six-team invitational tournament at Warman High School on Friday and Saturday, January 16-17.
Due to a last-minute cancellation, the Warman junior girls’ basketball team filled a slot in the tournament. The other participating squads included Martensville, Hague, Tisdale and Nipawin.
The senior girls opened the tournament on Friday afternoon with a 46-26 victory over the Martensville Royals.
They went on to hand Tisdale a 58-34 defeat on Saturday morning before closing the event with a fun match against the junior team, who were joined by some senior players to make it an even playing field.
The Martensville Royals went on to lose 66-38 to Nipawin on Saturday morning but rebounded with a 37-19 victory over Hague in the afternoon.
After a 43-17 loss to Tisdale on Friday, the Hague girls earned their own 44-20 victory over the Warman junior girls on Saturday morning.
Jennifer Schneider, who acts as the senior girls’ coach along with Kathleen Pauli, said this was the Wolverines’ fourth tournament of the 2025-2026 season.
“The team is hard-working, fun and dedicated,” she said. “We are looking forward to many more good games and lessons throughout the rest of the season.”
