Camryn Aebig of Rosthern was drafted first overall by the Warman Wolverines in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) draft  of 2010-born players on June 10.

Aebig is no stranger to the Warman Home Centre Communiplex. The speedy forward was captain of the Warman U15AA Wildcats last year, recording 44 goals and 34 assists, and adding two goals and an assist in two games with the U18AAA Tisdale Trojans after being called up to help out in the Trojans’ playoff run.

Aebig is slated to play for Tisdale next season.

Dawson Baht of Martensville was chosen second overall in the SJHL draft of 2010-born players by the Nipawin Hawks. Baht had 26 goals and 43 assists for the Martensville U15AA Marauders last year before being called up to play for the Warman U18AAA Wildcats in the post-season, where he played five games and recorded one assist.

In the second round of 2010-born players,, Weston Kostiuk of Martensville was chosen first overall by the Warman Wolverines, but was then traded to the Weyburn Red  Wings. Kostiuk had 40 goals and 21 assists last season with the Martensville U15AA Marauders. He played two games  during the regular season with the Warman U18AAA Wildcats, where he recorded a goal and an assist.

Also in the second round, Kylan Woytiuk of Martensville was chosen seventh (19th overall) by the Battlefords North Stars. Woytiuk had 15 goals and 23 assists with the U15AA Marauders last season.

Beau Anholt of Naicam (who billeted with a family in Neuanlage last season), was drafted 10th in the second round of 2010-born players by the Weyburn Red Wings, and then traded to the LaRonge Ice Wolves. Anholt played last season with the Warman U15AA Wildcats, where he recorded 22 goals and 40 assists, before being called up to play one game with the U18AAA Prince Albert Mintos. Anholt is slated to play for the Mintos next season.

The Warman Wolverines picked Rafael Ramazanov of Saskatoon first overall in the draft of 2009-born players June 10.

Ramy Borowsky of Martensville was picked fifth overall of 2009-born players by the Kindersley, and then traded to the Estevan Bruins.

In the second round of 2009-born players, Kade Kahovec of Aberdeen was picked first (13th overall) by the Warman Wildcats, and then traded to the Melfort Mustangs.

Cooper Sawatzky of Hague was picked seventh in the second round (19th overall) of 2009-born players by the Battlefords North Stars.

The Warman Wolverines picked Brady Keith of Prince Albert first in the third round of 2009-born players (25th overall).

Ryder Hagel of Martensville was picked seventh in the third round (31st overall) of 2009-born players by the Battlefords North Stars.

The Wolverines picked Easton Bley of Saskatoon first in the fourth round of 2009-born players (37th overall).

Sean Lavoie of Langham was picked second in the fourth round (38th overall) by the Nipawin Hawks, and then traded to the Flin Flon Bombers.

Dawson Gamble of Beardy’s Okemasis Cree Nation was picked third in the fourth round (39th overall) of 2009-born players by the Estevan Bruins, and then traded to the Kindersley Klippers.

Dade Wotherspoon of Martensville was picked first in the fifth round (49th overall) of 2009-born players by the Warman Wolverines.

Koen Oblander, also of Martensville, was picked 9th in the fifth round (57th overall) by the Melville Millionaires.


Wolverines choose home-grown stars

The Warman Wolverines announced on June 10 that two local Warman players, defenseman Logan Olsen and forward Maclain Ethier, are on the team’s ‘auto-protected’ list.

Olsen, who played for the Warman U15AA Wildcats last season, had 9 goals and 34 assists. He was drafted in May by the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He is slated to play for the Warman U18AAA Wildcats in the 2025-26 season.

Ethier, who recorded 32 goals and 33 assists for the Warman U15AA Wildcats last season, recently signed with the Moose Jaw U18AAA Warriors for the 2025-26 season.

In early June, the Wolverines announced the signing of Sawyer Scheidt of Warman. Scheidt played last season with the Saskatoon Contacts U18AAA.
