A total of 54 people registered for this year’s 10-kilometre Regional Race: Run or Ride on Saturday, May 10, which started at Prairie Oasis Park in Warman and ended at the Martensville Curling Club.
According to recreation program co-ordinator Jamie McCulloch, the fastest bike time was 26 minutes and the fastest run time was 37 minutes.
The event was a fundraiser for Kidsport and brought in approximately $2,100.
McCulloch said a number of service groups helped man barricades and corners during the race, while both the Martensville and Warman Fire Departments had crews along the route providing traffic control, along with two squad cars from the Corman Park Police Service.
The Martensville & District Kinsmen Club hosted a pancake breakfast for the participants, while the other sponsors for the event included North Prairie Development and CANWEST, Affinity Credit Union, Greatway Financial, SaskWater and First Charter.
Next year’s race will be held on May 9, 2026.
