Roughly 100 people lined up in the early morning hours before the doors of the new JYSK store in Martensville on December 14 to take part in the home furnishing retailer’s grand opening celebration.
The brand new JYSK, located at 41 Centennial Drive North, is over 12,000 square feet in size and marks the fifth JYSK store in Saskatchewan.
Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m., the first 200 customers to enter the building were presented $25 promo cards.
Coffee and cookies from Bubble Bee Coffee House were also available inside the building, and the 92.9 The Bull radio station was also on site throughout the day.
“It was wonderful to see the excitement for our new JYSK store,” said District Manager Philip Bergen, who handed out promo cards while wearing a Santa hat.
“We had a great grand opening event...and a lot of people walked away with great deals. We look forward to being successful in Martensville for many years.”
As stated in a press release, JYSK is an international retailer of affordable Scandinavian home furnishings and is one of the world’s fastest growing retailers with over 3,500 stores in 48 countries, including 70 locations throughout Canada.
