The provincial minor hockey playoffs are well underway, with several area teams making it through the opening round. Here’s an update.
WHO’S MOVING ON?
The Dalmeny Sabres hosted Kindersley in game one of Under-15 provincial playoffs on Thursday, February 2. The home squad (above and left) kept the pressure on and came away with a 6-3 victory. They followed that up with a 10-2 win in Kindersley to advance to the next round where they are scheduled to play Hudson Bay.
Several other area teams that have advanced:
Under-13D- Clavet defeated Hudson Bay 12-1, 13-0, they will face Muenster in round two.
Under-13C Delisle defeated Naicam 12-2, 12-4, they will play Dundurn in round two.
Under-15D Clavet defeated Porcupine Plain 8-4, 5-4, they will play the winner of Naicam/Delisle. Delisle won game one 9-1, game two will be played in Naicam on February 11.
Senior D Delisle defeated Kerrobert 6-1, 5-4. They will play Kyle in round two.
UPCOMING GAMES
Under-13B- Rosthern will play Meadow Lake #2 in Meadow Lake February 11 and in Rosthern on February 18.
Under-15C- Aberdeen defeated Big River 10-2 in game one and will play game two in Cudworth on February 11.
Under-15D- Delisle defeated Naicam 9-1 in game one and will travel to Naicam for game two on February 11.
Under-18C- Delisle will play Birch Hills in Delisle on February 17, with game two being February 19. Aberdeen hosts Porcupine Plain on February 11, with game two on February 18.
Under-18D- Clavet will travel to Lashburn on February 12,with game two scheduled for February 19 in Clavet.
Senior B Willow Cree plays a weekend home and home with Wilkie. Game one is in Wilkie on February 11 and game two at Beardy’s on February 12.
