The Warman Wolverines won a provincial bronze medal in 5A girls soccer, downing Swift Current 2-1 in the third-place final   in Prince Albert last weekend.

Saskatoon Holy Cross won the provincial gold medal, edging Saskatoon St. Joseph by a score of 2-1 in the match-up for top spot.

The eight-team tournament also featured Prince Albert Carlton, Regina Campbell, Regina Miller, and Yorkton Regional High Schools.

In round-robin play on Friday, October 29,  Saskatoon Holy Cross downed Regina Campbell 2-0; Swift Current beat Prince Albert Carlton 2-1; Saskatoon St. Joseph beat Regina Miller 1-0; Warman downed Yorkton Regional 3-2; Saskatoon Holy Cross blanked Swift Current 3-0; Prince Albert Carlton doubled Regina Campbell 4-2; Saskatoon St. Joseph got by Warman 4-3; and Regina Miller edged Yorkton Regional 2-1.

In Saturday’s playoff games, Regina Miller beat Prince Alert Carlton 3-1 to take the consolation championship.

Warman got by Swift Current 2-1 in the bronze medal game and Saskatoon Holy Cross beat Saskatoon St. Joseph 2-1 in the gold medal game.
