On Saturday, September 11, Martensville Fire Department (MFD) members marked the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States in which nearly 3,000 people were killed when three planes were hijacked by radical Islamist terrorists. Firefighters brought the trucks outside the hall, raised the American flag to half-mast, and observed a moment of silence to pay their respects to the victims of the attack. The tribute also honoured the thousands of First Responders who risked their lives to help others.
