Warman High School (WHS) graduates got the green light to hold a celebratory parade and fireworks event during the June 11-13 weekend.

Warman City Council passed a resolution to allow the parade at a meeting on Monday, May 10. The resolution was in response to a letter from the parents’ committee of WHS Graduating class.

Warman Mayor Gary Philipchuk said it’s important for the community to “celebrate the graduates’ achievement” in a public display.

He added that while all the details of the WHS graduation celebration are not finalized, the activities will strictly follow public health protocols laid down by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). He said the high school is also planning activities around the grad celebration, but they are also not finalized at this time.

WHS Grade 12 student Julian Boden, who is the youth representative on city council, was chosen by his peers as this year’s Class Valedictorian.
