Here is the occurrence summary for March 22 – 29.

On March 23 at 10:40 a.m. Corman Park Police received a complaint of a large pile of boxes and garbage dumped on Township Road 354 east of Highway 60. Police attended and observed that some of the boxes had address labels on them and were addressed to a female resident of the RM of Vanscoy. Police attended at the residence and spoke with the female whose name appeared on the address labels in the garbage. She advised she knew nothing about how her garbage got there. While speaking with the woman, a male from inside the residence came to the door and advised police that he was the one who had dumped the garbage.

Police issued the man, a 22-year-old male resident of the RM of Vanscoy, with a litter ticket which carries a $1000 fine, with an early payment option of $500. The man re- attended the site and cleaned up the garbage to avoid being issued with a bill for a Public Works crew to attend and remove it.

On March 25 at 2:25 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a 2007 grey Nissan Murano having difficulty staying within its lane while driving southbound on Valley Road in Corman Park. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 22-year-old male resident of the Saskatoon area, who advised that he had consumed several pints of beer prior to driving.

The man was read a breath demand and supplied a sample of breath into a roadside screening device which registered a reading of FAIL. The man was arrested and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of his breath measured at .15 and .16 mgs, double the legal limit. Police located open alcohol in the vehicle as well.

The man was held in custody for a short while and later released on charges of impaired driving, operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol at or exceeding .08 mgs, and keeping open liquor in a vehicle. His licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.

On March 26 at 10:30 p.m. Corman Park Police observed a southbound vehicle on Highway 11 near Osler with a piece of equipment hanging from the suspension. Police stopped the 2006 Chrysler 300 to check for mechanical fitness.

While police were showing the driver the mechanical issue it was observed that the driver had a large amount of cash protruding from his pants pocket in plain view. Police requested that the driver present his driver’s licence, which he advised he could not. He verbally identified himself but when police checked the driver’s licence database the photograph on file did not match.

The man was arrested for obstructing police by lying about his name. The man eventually provided his real name and it was determined that the man had an outstanding warrant from Maidstone RCMP for impaired driving, obstructing a peace officer and personation with intent to avoid arrest.

The man was also suspended from driving and at large on conditions stemming from charges laid against him in Prince Albert. The cash, $4920, was seized from the man’s pocket and police searched the vehicle and located a can of bear spray wrapped in black tape. The man, a 33-year-old male resident of Sandy Bay, was held in custody for a short while and later released on charges of possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, driving while suspended and driving with an inadequate suspension. He was assigned a new court date on his outstanding warrant matters.
