Jaimie Malmgren, the Executive Director of the Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce (PSCC) is stepping down from the post, effective Friday, April 16.
She has accepted a new position as General Manager of Mid Sask Community Futures.
PSCC Board Chair Jaime Holowaty announced Malmgren’s resignation on Wednesday, March 24.
Malmgren has served as PSCC Executive Director since 2017, when the Warman Chamber of Commerce and Martensville Chamber of Commerce amalgamated to form the PSCC. She served as Executive Director of the Warman Chamber of Commerce from 2014 to 2017.
Holowaty said Malmgren played a critical role in the development and success of the PSCC.
“While we will miss her and her inspiring leadership, we wish her the best of luck in her new endeavor,” said Holowaty. “We want to thank her for the seven years of dedicated service which involved many significant accomplishments.”
Malmgren said serving as Executive Director of the local chamber of commerce for the past seven years has been “a privilege, honor, and pleasure.”
“Working in partnership with the board of directors, we have achieved many accomplishments during this time,” said Malmgren. “And I am so very grateful for the valuable experience and opportunities I have gained.
“While I look forward to this new chapter, I will always look back with affection, satisfaction, and pride in the accomplishments we achieved at the Prairie Sky Chamber.”
Malmgren said she treasures the relationships with chamber of commerce members and partners.
“While I will certainly miss my work with the chamber, I will always be one of the biggest advocates for the chamber organization,” she added.
Holowaty said the PSCC will be conducting a search to find a new Executive Director over the next few weeks.
“During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization,” said Holowaty, adding the PSCC membership is encouraged to identify candidates.
Holowaty praised Malmgren for the “dedication, passion, enthusiasm and innovation” she brought to the position over the past seven years.
