Martensville High School

Prairie Spirit School Division (PSSD) officials say a number of individuals at Martensville High School (MHS) have tested positive for COVID-19

There was also one case of the virus at Colonsay School.

In a statement released Tuesday, November 10, PSSD officials said the cases were confirmed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).

The school division did not release the number of individuals at MHS that have tested positive for COVID-19, citing privacy concerns.

However, school division officials said they are working closely with the SHA to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect students and staff. Both school communities have also been informed of the cases and measures are in place to protect all students and staff.

“We all have a shared responsibility to decrease the risk of COVID-19 entering schools,” stated PSSD officials. “Our school plans contain many important measures, processes and protocols which add layers of protection for students and staff.”

Students and families are reminded to be diligent in performing the daily health screening, stay home if ill, call HealthLine 811 if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, practice proper hand hygiene, maintain physical distancing as much as possible, wear a mask when appropriate, and do everything we can to keep each other safe.
