Here is the occurrence summary for the Corman Park Police Service for July 13-20, 2020.

On July 17 at 9:06 a.m., Corman Park Police were contacted by the RM of Vanscoy Police to assist with a call of a possible impaired driver at the Sandy Ridge gas station on Highway 14 at Range Road 3081. It was reported that a female operating a burgundy SUV was asking customers to purchase fuel for her and that she appeared intoxicated. Police attended and located a female seated in the rear of the burgundy SUV. Police detained the woman for an impaired driving investigation. Security video footage revealed that the woman had driven the car into the gas station parking lot. Police made a breath demand on the woman, a 22-year-old resident of Dillon, SK. The woman provided a breath sample into a roadside screening device, which registered a reading of fail. The woman was arrested and taken to the Delisle RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples of 220 and 200 mgs%, two and a half times the legal limit. The woman admitted to consuming 10-12 beers prior to driving. The woman was transported to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where she was held in custody and later released on charges of impaired driving and breaching a undertaking as she was on conditions not to consume alcohol.

On July 17 at 9:09 p.m. Corman Park Police received a complaint from a resident of the Merrill School Road area advising that a white pickup truck had driven into the area and a male was tossing garbage bags out of the back of the truck on to the roadway. A licence plate was supplied to police who followed up on the plate by attending at a residence in Saskatoon

The registered owner of the truck advised that she had paid three people to help her clean up her yard and use her truck to take the garbage to the dump. One of the men who was paid was identified and police contacted the man, a 42-year-old resident of Saskatoon. The man admitted that he and two others had been paid to go to the dump with the garbage, but by the time they got there it was closed so they drove out of the city and dumped the bags on the Merrill School Road. The man was issued a summons under the Corman Park Anti-Dumping Bylaw, which carries a $1000 fine for a first offence. Police are still attempting to locate the other two involved subjects.

On July 18 at 3:00 a.m., Corman Park Police were made aware of a stolen vehicle observed by the Saskatoon Police Service heading north out of Saskatoon into the RM of Corman Park. Police observed the vehicle in an area southeast of the City of Warman. The vehicle was being monitored by the Saskatoon Police Aircraft. Eventually the vehicle, a black Dodge pickup, entered a field in the area of Range Road 3042 and Township Road 384. Police set up at the entrance to the property and minutes later the vehicle came out of the field. Corman Park Police deployed a spike belt, which was effective on one of the vehicle’s tires.

The vehicle continued to flee to the west where the RCMP deployed another spike belt, bringing the vehicle to a stop a short while later. A man and a woman were observed fleeing from the vehicle and were arrested with the help of the Saskatoon Police Canine Unit. Numerous charges, including possession of stolen property and possession of a weapon dangerous to the pubic peace have been laid against a 33-year-old Saskatoon man and a 26-year-old woman from Prince Albert.

On July 19 at 2:20 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a northbound grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup on Range Road 3050 near Township Road 400. Police stopped the vehicle to check for driver’s licence, registration, mechanical fitness and driver sobriety. Investigation revealed that the licence plate attached to the vehicle did not match the registration.

The driver, a 20-year-old male resident of Osler, advised that he had consumed alcohol before driving. He was read a breath demand and provided a breath sample into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of WARN.

Because the man is under 21 years of age and considered a new driver, there is a zero tolerance for alcohol on his licence conditions. The man’s licence was suspended for 60 days and his vehicle impounded for three days. He was issued a summons for displaying an unauthorized licence plate.

On July 20 at 2:09 a.m. Corman Park Police observed a northbound Honda Civic on Highway 219 at Township Road 350A, near the Hamlet of Beaver Creek. The vehicle had no tail lights. Police stopped the vehicle and observed it was being driven by a female, with a second female passenger.

The woman driving the vehicle advised that she did not have her licence on her but identified herself verbally. A database check revealed that the name provided by the woman did not match the photo on file. Investigation located an identity card in the vehicle, which matched the driver under another name. It was revealed that the driver, a 25-year-old resident of Prince Albert, had numerous driving suspensions in effect. She was questioned about alcohol consumption, as police observed open alcohol containers behind the driver’s seat.

The woman denied any alcohol consumption. She was read a breath demand and provided a sample into a roadside screening device, which resulted in a reading of .022, which is under the legal limit. The woman was issued tickets for having no tail lights, having open alcohol in a vehicle, making a false statement to a police officer and driving while suspended. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
