Warman resident Jennifer Doucette has been chosen as the city’s 2025 Diamond Citizen of the Year.
This award is the most prestigious honour of Warman’s Volunteer Appreciation Awards.
It is reserved for a true community builder, someone who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, who has donated time and skill towards the betterment of others, and who has truly made an impact for future generations.
The presentation of the award was made at the Warman City Council meeting on Monday, June 22.
In presenting the award, Warman Mayor Gary Philipchuk said Jennifer Doucette’s exceptional commitment to service, leadership and community involvement in Warman spans more than 13 years.
From 2013 to 2019, Jennifer was an Outreach Board Member and held various Volunteer roles with St. John’s Lutheran Church.
From 2014 to 2018, she was a Board Member of the Recreation Advisory Committee.
From 2015 to 2018, Jennifer helped Warman Minor Hockey by taking on the role of Bantam/Midget Administrator.
From 2017 to 2019, she was the Vice Chair of the Lutheran Early Learning Centre Board.
From 2018 to 2025, Jennifer assisted Warman Minor Hockey again by becoming the Referee Assignor and a Triple A Proposal Committee Member.
In 2023, she was a Board Member of the Triple A Telus Cup West Regionals.
From 2025 to today, Jennifer is the Game Day Coordinator at all Warman Wolverines SJHL home games.
“Jennifer leads by example, treats everyone with respect, and quietly works behind the scenes to strengthen the community,” said Philipchuk. “Her reliability and integrity make her someone that others naturally trust and look up to.
Just before presenting the award, Philipchuk cited a glowing testimonial from Jennifer’s son, Josh Doucette, who stated: “Our mom is a role model to me and my sisters and to many others in Warman. Growing up, we have always known our mom as someone who helps others. Even when she is tired, she never says ‘no’ if someone needs help.”
