Lutheran Road became a makeshift runway on Tuesday, May 26 when a private plane was forced to make an emergency landing.
Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) and RCMP responded to a report of a possible plane crash in the vicinity of Lutheran Road near Range Road 3072 in the RM of Corman Park. The incident occurred about 6:00 p.m.
According to a news release issued May 27 by the CPPS, the initial report was made by NAV CANADA’s Saskatoon Control Tower.
Upon arrival, officers determined the aircraft had not crashed, but had experienced fuel exhaustion, resulting in a complete loss of engine power and a subsequent emergency forced landing.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The aircraft landed safely on the roadway without damage to the aircraft, road, or surrounding infrastructure.
