Ten-year-old Jackson Orr of Corman Park took top spot for his age division (Boys 9-10) in the  Maple Leaf Tour (MJT) Mini-Tour at Elmwood Golf and Country Club in Swift Current over the Victoria Day long weekend.

Orr lit up the links with three birdies and an eagle on his way to a stellar 77 on the 18-hole, par 72 course, demonstrating both passion and precision.

“I love this event and I love Elmwood,” stated Orr at the conclusion of his standout performance. “Thank you for the work – I love this tour so much!”

With the win, Orr has now qualified to compete at the MJT Mini Tour National Championship at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Club in BC at the end of August.

Another young golfer, Jace Fehr of Hague, placed fourth in the Boys 11-12 age group division at the same event, recording an overall score of 89 on the 18-hole course. Declan Kozakavich of Saskatoon took top spot in this division with a score of 81.

In the Juvenile Boys division, 15-year-old Ethan Hunter of Casa Rio and 15-year-old Dante Gamble of Duck Lake ended up in a three-way tie along with Jayden Arnold of Calgary with identical scores of 222 over three rounds. Hunter had scores of 75,76 and 71; while Gamble shot 70,74 and 78.

Seventeen-year-old Brayden Skene of Martensville placed fourth in the Junior Boys division at the event, shooting scores of 74, 74 and 75 for an overall three-round total of 223.

In the Bantam Boys division, Thomas Pilon of Saskatoon placed seventh with an overall score of 248. Kevin Liu of Warman ended up in 15th spot with an overall score of 277, followed closely by Carson Jones of Warman in 16th place with an overall total of 283.

Fifteen-year-old Grace Odnokon of Saskatoon won the Girls 15-19 age group with a three-round total score of 241, shooting 78, 85 and 78. Fifteen-year-old Tina Liu of Warman placed 11th in that division with an overall three-round score of 296.

In the Pee Wee Boys division, 11-year-old Cohen Bridge of Corman Park placed fourth with a three-round total score of 264.
