An RCMP officer from Prince Albert was dragged by a truck while assisting the Warman RCMP during the investigation of a break and enter in the Corman Park area.
On April 9 at approximately 2:40 a.m., the RCMP found a stolen truck associated with the break and enter at a residence on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
When an officer approached the truck, the driver began to back out of the driveway, dragging the officer. The truck then moved forward, striking an occupied RCMP police vehicle.
Other responding RCMP officers were able to remove the female driver of the truck and arrest her. Four other indiviudals fled on foot, but were located approximately an hour later with the help of Police Dog Services.
A 17-year-old female is facing multiple charges, including two counts of assault of a peace officer with a weapon and resisting arrest. The four other individuals were released without charge.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported by the officers involved.
