On January 29 at around 2:36 p.m., police arrested a male on multiple outstanding warrants out of Saskatoon Police Service for three charges of driving while disqualified, one count of driving while suspended, and failing to appear.

This arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on Dalmeny Road and 33rd Street. The male was released on a Form H to attend court in February to answer to the charges.

On January 29 at around 2:30 p.m., CPPS executed a traffic stop after observing the vehicle speeding. The driver showed signs of drug impairment and was read the Oral Fluid Demand to which he yelled and swore, voicing his displeasure with police.

Police explained what was expected, and the consequences for failing to provide an oral fluid sample. The driver advised he would not comply and was subsequently placed under arrest for refusal. He was then transported to the Martensville RCMP Detachment for processing, where he was released on an appearance notice to attend Saskatoon Provincial Court to answer to the charges.

On January 31 at approximately 5:48 p.m., on Highway 11 near Township Road 381, a male was found to be operating a black Dodge Caravan under the influence of cannabis after testing positive on ADSE.

The driver, who was already suspended twice from driving and never held a licence, was subsequently issued a further 60-day driver’s licence suspension and a 37-day vehicle impound, plus 30 days for being an unauthorized driver and seven days for operating under the influence with his two-month-old child in the vehicle.

On Feb. 1 at 1 a.m., CPPS conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 12 and Cory Road. The driver was with his two minor age children as passengers. He provided a sample of his breath into an approved screening device resulting in “FAIL”.

He was then arrested and transported to Martensville RCMP where he provided two samples of his breath resulting in readings over .08. The subject was released on an Appearance Notice for Saskatoon Provincial Court.

On February 12 at 11:09 a.m., CPPS attended a house fire on Range Road 3053 and Township Road 394.  Martensville and Osler Fire and EMS were all dispatched to the location which was fully engulfed in flames on arrival.

The fire appears to have been caused by use of electric heaters within the home. One person received non-life-threatening injuries from smoke inhalation and burns.

On February 6 at 11:45 a.m., DOCC broadcasted a two-vehicle MVC at the intersection of Township Road 380 and Range Road 3064. A southbound blue Ford F150 failed to yield to the right of way and struck a truck and trailer combo. There were no injuries, the F150 was not driveable and was towed from the scene.
