The recent swing to hotter temperatures has led to a total fire restriction being implemented in all divisions of the RM of Corman Park.

Effective Thursday, May 28, at 9 a.m., all controlled burns within the RM are prohibited until this fire restriction is lifted.

All controlled burns presently burning within the municipality must be promptly extinguished, and the lighting of any new controlled burns is strictly prohibited.

The fire restriction does not apply to recreational fires; burning barrel fires; smudge fires; internal household fireplaces, outdoor propane or natural fire gas pits/tables propane, natural gas, pellet or briquette-fueled cooking equipment; or fires lit by Fire Protection Organizations for training or preventative control measures.

Residents are reminded to use extreme caution with any permitted outdoor fire or heat sources and to follow all applicable manufacturer instructions.

Previously, the RM of Corman Park had imposed a total fire ban in Divisions 1, 7 and 8 on May 5, but rescinded that ban on May 15, the same day that a surprise snowstorm swept through Saskatchewan.
