Warman High School was the site of the 5A Girls Basketball Regionals this Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, where two teams qualified to advance to the HOOPLA Provincials in Moose Jaw.

The Warman Wolverines and Martensville Royals were among the eight teams competing in the tournament, alongside Prince Albert St. Mary, Yorkton Regional, Estevan, Lloydminster, North Battleford Comprehensive, Weyburn, Prince Albert Carlton and Swift Current.

The Warman girls were knocked out of contention after losing 54-49 to Prince Albert St. Mary in a seesaw match that saw the lead traded back and forth. They went on to face Lloydminster in a consolation game on Saturday, where they lost 65-35.

Martensville was also eliminated in their first match against Yorkton Regional by a score of 70-11. They then lost to Weyburn in a consolation match on Saturday by a score of 39-5.

Swift Current defeated PA Carlton in the championship final 54-42 to clinch the gold, while Estevan finished in third place after defeating North Battleford Comp 54-44.
