Two candidates have thrown their hats in the ring for a seat on Aberdeen Town Council.
Jason Wilson and Randal Doige are running for the position of town councillor in a byelection scheduled for Wednesday, March 25. The polling station on election day is the Aberdeen Town Office. Voting takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on election day.
An advance poll is also scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 at the Aberdeen Town Office from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The results of the election will be announced on Thursday, March 26.
The vacancy on Aberdeen Town Council is due to the resignation in December 2025 of former councillor Justin Regier. Regier was elected during the municipal general election in November, 2024.
The Aberdeen councillor elected in the upcoming byelection will serve until the next election in November, 2028.
Current members of the Aberdeen Town Council include: Mayor Ryan White, Councillor and Deputy Mayor Lori Sopotyk, and Councillors Joel Dokken, Andrew Hamoline, Brian Vandenberg, and Bjorn Vors.
