The pace of construction in Warman and Martensville last year climbed to levels unmatched in the last decade.

The total value of construction in Warman during the 12 months of 2025 was $87.6 million.

That comes close to the levels reached in 2013 ($96 million), 2014 ($131.8 million) and 2015 ($98.1 million).

Martensville, meanwhile, reached a new record, with $71 million worth of construction permits issued during the 2025 calendar year. That exceeds its previous record of $63.2 million, set in 2015. The figures are posted online at the City of Martensville website.

The big reason for Martensville’s high construction value is the increase in multi-family dwellings. Three large multi-family complexes account for the lion’s share of those projects. They include: an 87-unit building at 225 Main Street, and a 55-unit building and 52-unit building on 16th Avenue North.

There were also 27 commercial/industrial development permits issued in Martensville during 2025.

Coincidentally, Warman also issued 27 permits for commercial and industrial buildings in 2025. On the residential front, Warman saw 138 permits issued for single-family homes in 2025, as well as permits for multi-family dwellings which include a total of 54 units.

During a Warman City Council committee of the whole meeting on Monday, January 19, a report outlining the city’s construction history for the past 15 years was presented by administration.

That report notes that the cumulative total of construction values in Warman for 2010 to 2025 inclusive was $965,862,150.

The cumulative total for the value of construction permits in Martensville for the period 2010 to 2025 inclusive was $576,716,159.
