On December 5 at 6:40 p.m., DOCC dispatched a call of a possible impaired driver on Highway 7 near the Cory Potash Mine traveling eastbound. Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) intercepted the vehicle entering the City of Saskatoon and stopped the vehicle. The driver displayed signs of cannabis impairment and admitted to recent consumption. The driver was read the oral fluid demand and provided a sample of oral fluid resulting in a positive for THC. The driver subsequently had his drivers license suspended for three days and vehicle impounded for three days.
On December 5 at 8:12 p.m., CPPS stopped a vehicle on Grasswood Road to check the driver’s license for validity. The driver displayed signs of drug impairment and admitted to recent cannabis use. The driver was read the oral fluid demand and provided a sample of oral fluid which resulted in a positive result for THC. The driver was subsequently issued 60-day driver’s license suspension and a 33-day vehicle impound. The driver was also found to be driving on a suspended drivers license.
On December 7 at 3:30 p.m., DOCC dispatched a call of a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lanes on Highway 16 near Highway 305. CPPS attended and made patrols. The vehicle was not located.
On December 9 at 4:35 p.m., DOCC dispatched a call of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 12 and Cory Road. CPPS and RCMP attended and found an SUV had slid into the rear side area of a semi. The SUV was towed from the scene, and the driver issued a ticket for driving too fast for road conditions. There were no injuries.
On December 11 at 12:52 a.m., CPPS stopped a vehicle after observing a broken taillight. The driver displayed signs of drug impairment and was read the oral fluid demand. The driver provided a sample of his oral fluid resulting in a positive for cocaine. The driver was found to have never had a drivers license and was also found to be wanted out of the Saskatoon Police Service. The driver was subsequently arrested and released to attend court in Saskatoon. The driver also had his vehicle seized for three days. A small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle.
On December 11 at 1:50 a.m., DOCC dispatched a call of a single vehicle collision on Valley Road near Township Road (TWP) 354. CPPS attended and found a vehicle in the ditch, which had hit a sign. The driver advised he had swerved to avoid a deer and entered the ditch, hitting the sign. There were no injuries.
