The number of residential building permits issued so far this year in Warman is more than double last year’s total.
And the overall value of those permits is also more than twice as much as it was during the same period a year ago.
According to statistics contained in a city administration report to the Warman City Council committee of the whole meeting on Monday, November 17, there were permits issued for 135 single-family homes and 15 multi-family dwellings in Warman between January 1 and November 12, 2025. The total value of those permits was $55,466,700.
This compares to 59 permits for single family homes and seven permits for multi-family buildings between January 1 and November 12, 2024. The cumulative value of those permits was $26,355,800.
“Residential development continues to be the driver of the higher overall value opposed to last year’s numbers,” stated the administration report.
Commercial development in Warman during the first ten months of 2025 was similar to last year. There were 27 commercial construction permits issued between January 1 and November 12, 2025, the same number issued for the same period in 2024. However, the value of commercial construction this year is higher, at $22,072,399, compared to $20,355,990 in 2024.
According to the city’s planning department, commercial development this year was elevated by a new grocery store being built on Centennial Boulevard next to the Shopper’s Drug Mart and across the street from the Warman Home Centre Communiplex.
The overall value of all building permits in Warman so far in 2025, including garages, decks, renovations and additions, is $82,659,913. This compares to $51,055,843 for the same period in 2024.

The City of Martensville, meanwhile, is also racking up record-breaking construction statistics in 2025.
According to statistics provided by the city’s planning and development department on the Martensville website, the total value of all construction permits issued between January 1 and October 27, 2025 amounts to $69,189,933.53.
This is higher than the city’s previous record of $63,231,469 attained during the 2015 calendar year; and considerably higher than the $20,735,402 cumulative value reached for the full 12 months of 2024.
