The Warman RCMP were brought in to help with an investigation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 4.2 million unstamped cigarettes and three boxes with 460,000 individual doses of methamphetamine on October 29 near Saskatoon.
According to an RCMP release, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch stopped a truck and trailer at the weigh scale on Highway 16 at approximately 12:30 p.m. The officers found methamphetamine and unstamped tobacco and arrested the two adult male occupants of the truck, who have since been taken into RCMP custody.
The release states the Warman RCMP were engaged to continue the investigation. During a search of the truck and trailer, the RCMP found three boxes containing methamphetamine and weighing approximately 46 kilograms.
Officers note the average dose of methamphetamine is 0.1 grams, meaning the seized boxes contained approximately 460,000 individual doses.
Officers also located 14 pallets containing approximately 4.2 million unstamped cigarettes.
45-year-old Jasvir Singh of Brampton, Ont., and 27-year-old Harbir Singh of Georgetown, Ont., are each charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; one count of possession of unstamped tobacco under the Excise Act; one count of possessing, storing, transporting or selling tobacco that is not marked in a prescribed manner under the Tobacco Tax Act; and one count of selling, offering for sale, transporting, distributing, delivering or possessing an unstamped tobacco product or raw leaf tobacco under the Criminal Code.
Both men appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on October 30, 2025.
Warman RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT), who will further examine and process the seized items.
