Several area high school soccer teams are heading to provincial championship tournaments after strong showings at regionals last weekend.

In the 3A Boys regional tournament in Osler October 17 and 18, the team from Constable Robin Cameron School in Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation placed first after downing Waldheim 1-0 in the gold medal final. Valley Christian Academy (VCA) placed third with a 2-1 win over Langham. All four teams will play in provincials in Wynyard October 24 and 25.

In the 4A Girls regional tournament, also held in Osler last weekend, VCA won the gold medal with a win over North Battleford John Paul II. VCA will compete in provincials in Yorkton October 24 and 25.

The Martensville High School girls soccer team also competed in the 4A Girls regional tournament in Osler last weekend, but fell short of earning a berth at provincials. 

Rosthern Junior College (RJC) and Hepburn will compete in the 3A Girls provincial tournament in North Battleford next weekend.

The girls team from Warman High School took part in the 5A Girls Regional tournament in  Prince Albert October 17 and 18 but weren’t able to qualify for provincials.
