The Warman Wolverines Junior ‘A’ hockey team opened their inaugural 2025-2026 season with a pair of losses versus the Humboldt Broncos.
Playing before a packed house during their season-opener at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex on Friday, September 19, the Wolverines fell to the visiting Broncos 3-0.
Though Warman managed 30 shots on goal, they were ultimately outshot by Humboldt who managed 40 shots against goaltender Griffin Wright.
Humboldt ended up scoring once per period, with their final goal coming on a power play in the third period.
Heading to Humboldt on Saturday, September 20, the Wolverines opened much stronger than the previous night, scoring at 5:26 in the first period. Owen Parks notched the Wolverines’ fist goal, with Riley Rich-Holden assisting.
Sadly, Humboldt answered with two more goals of their own in the first, and then followed up with another goal in the third to secure a 3-1 win.
The Wolverines also played the Battlefords North Stars on Tuesday, September 23 on the road. However, results were not available due to publication deadlines.
The Wolverines are also set to play the Kindersley Klippers on the road this Friday, September 26 before returning for a home game versus the Klippers on Saturday, September 27.
