Shaun Cripps was elected to Warman City Council in a by-election on Wednesday, September 3.

Cripps won the election with a total of 188 votes, according to unofficial results posted on the City of Warman’s social media page on Thursday, September 4. Official results are expected to be released by the city administration on Friday, September 5.

Corey Halford, the second-place finisher, received 144 votes. Darla Schwartz was third with 99 votes, followed by Anthony Andre (93 votes),  Grace Beck (82 votes) and Amar Vasani (14 votes).

The by-election was triggered by the resignation of former Warman City Councillor Doug Ramage in March, 2025. Ramage resigned for family reasons.

Shaun Cripps previously served on Warman City Council after winning a by-election in 2022. He lost his bid for re-election by a narrow margin in last fall’s general municipal election.

Cripps is a journeyman plumber and small business owner who previously served as Chair of the Saskatchewan Construction Association.

In his by-election campaign  statement, Cripps pledged to bring a “common-sense, business-minded approach to City Council.”
