Continuing a tradition that has been going on for nearly a decade now, the Warman Minor Hockey Association is set to host an exhibition match between two Western Hockey League (WHL) teams — the Saskatoon Blades and the Prince Albert Raiders — this Saturday, September 6.
The game will take place inside the 1,200-seat KH Developments Arena at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
Jackie Salzl of the Warman Minor Hockey Association said they have been hosting a Blades versus Raiders pre-season exhibition game every year since 2016.
“We are very proud to host this community event in Warman,” said Salzl.
Proceeds from the event go directly to the Warman Minor Hockey Association, which will also run a 50/50 draw at the game. There will also be a Saskatoon Blades merchandise table at the event, Salzl said.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online at www.warmanwildcats.com. Salzl noted that they sell out of tickets each year very, so anyone planning to attend the game should purchase them online quickly.
Salzl also gave a special thanks to their communtiy sponsors and volunteers, as well as the Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders for hosting an exhibition game in Warman.
