On March 10 at 12:40 p.m., CPPS was dispatched to a call of an abandoned trailer at Range Road (RR) 3055 and Township Road (TWP)382. A CPIC check on the trailer came back as stolen out of Warman. The owner attended to collect the trailer which was empty at the time of the theft.
On March 16 at 2:50 a.m., CPPS stopped a silver BMW on TWP 382 near RR 3052 to check the driver’s license, vehicle registration, driver’s fitness and vehicle fitness. A mandatory ASD demand was made, and the driver provided a breath sample which resulted in a reading of 47 mgs%. He was subsequently issued a three day driver’s license suspension and a three day vehicle impound.
On March 19 at 1:30 p.m., on TWP 362 west of Valley Road, a vehicle driver was found to be operating under the influence of cannabis and cocaine after testing positive on ADSE. The driver was issued a 72 hour Driver’s License suspension and three day vehicle impoundment.
On March 19 around 10:00 p.m., CPPS conducted a traffic stop on a Black GMC Terrain that was related to a theft of firearms out of Blaine Lake around 6:00 p.m. The vehicle was also reported as stolen. The driver pulled into a property off Highway 219 near Grasswood Road and was arrested for possession of stolen property. Saskatoon RCMP arrived to assist. A male came out of the house and was later arrested for possession of stolen property with two stolen guns found in a second stolen vehicle parked in the driveway. Four other occupants in the house barricaded themselves inside for a few hours. The RCMP Emergency Rresponse Team arrived and was able to convince them to come out. All were arrested in relation to the stolen vehicles and stolen firearms from Blaine Lake and will appear in court facing numerous firearms and robbery charges. The investigation is ongoing.
On March 21, CPPS waved over a black Dodge Ram at a check stop on Beam Road. The accused admitted to a couple of drinks earlier in the evening. He provided a sample of breath into an ASD, resulting in a FAIL. The accused was arrested and transported to Martensville RCMP for breath samples. He provided two samples of breath resulting in readings over .08.The driver was released on an Appearance Notice for court in May, 2025 at Provincial Court.
On March 22 at 10:40 p.m., CPPS conducted a traffic stop on Highway 12 near TWP 380. The driver admitted to using a dab pen to consume THC and was tested, showing positive for THC. He received a 60 day suspension of his licence.
On March 21 at 7:45 p.m., RCMP dispatch informed CPPS of multiple 911 calls of a red Audi swerving and driving erratically eastbound on Highway 7 near Vanscoy. CPPS located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop where the driver presented with glossy eyes and smelled strongly of beverage alcohol. He provided a sample of his breath into the ASD resulting in “FAIL”. He was arrested and transported to the Saskatoon RCMP detachment where he provided two samples of breath resulting in 160 mgs% and 150 mgs%. He was released with an Appearance Notice for Provincial Court in May 2025.
