Teams qualifying for the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) volleyball provincial championships are now set.
The 1-3A Girls Regionals were on November 8 and 9 with Provincials scheduled for November 15 and 16.
Langham hosted the 2A regionals with Neilberg, Pierceland, Wilkie, Rosthern Community School (RCS), and St. Walburg. Langham continued their strong play with wins over Neilberg (25-19, 25-7), Pierceland (5-23, 25-4), RCS (25-16, 25-16), Wilkie (25-11, 25-22). RCS had a win over St.Walburg (25-22, 25-18).
Delisle hosted the 3A regionals with Waldheim, Osler VCA, Makwa, Unity and Maidstone. Waldheim was 1-1 in pool play with a win over Delisle 19-25, 25-17, 15-7 and a 25-8, 22-25, 10-15 loss to Makwa. In the playoff they defeated Osler VCA 25-20, 25-15 in the semi-finals and Unity 25-17, 25-19 in the finals. Osler VCA finished first in pool B play with wins over Maidstone 25-18, 21-25, 15-18 and Unity 25-23, 26-24.
The 4-5A Girls Regionals were November 9 with Provincials scheduled for November 15 and 16.
The 4A girls West Region tournament was hosted by NB John Paul II with Martensville, Humboldt, PACI, Meadow Lake, Sakoskohc and Kindersley. Martensville finished first in Pool B with wins over PACI (25-5, 25-2), Kindersley (25-21, 25-16), Humboldt (27-17, 26-24).They lost the semi-final game 14-25, 25-16, 13-15 to Meadow Lake.
The 5A North Region tournament was hosted by NB Comp with Warman, Lloydminster, PA Carlton, and PA St.Mary. Warman was 3-1 with wins over NB Comp (25-18, 25-15), Lloydminster (25-10, 21-25, 15-11), PA St. Mary ( 19-25,25-14, 15-18) and a loss to PA Carlton (25-27, 18-25).
1-3A Boys: Conferences were November 9 with Regionals November 15 and 16, and Provincials November 22 and 23.
Hepburn and Langham played in 2A Boys East Region Conference One at Kinistino including Pelican Lake and Sturgeon Lake. Hepburn was 3-1 with wins over Langham (25-11, 25-17), Pelican Lake (25-17, 25-9), Sturgeon Lake (25-7, 25-18). Langham was 1-3 with a win over Sturgeon Lake (17-25, 25-21, 15-13).
Osler VCA hosted the North Region Conference One tournament with RJC, Senator Allan Bird, Senator Myles Verne and Bernard Constant.(see accompanying story).
Dalmeny hosted the North Region Conference Two tournament with Spiritwood, Waldheim, and Minahik. Waldheim were undefeated with wins over Dalmeny (25-17, 23-25, 15-11). Dalmeny was 1-2 with a 25-12, 25-15 over Minahik.
Clavet hosted the West Region Conference Two tournament with Delisle, Biggar and Outlook. Clavet went undefeated with wins over Delisle (25-16), Biggar ( 25-17, 17-25, 15-10), Outlook (25-20). Delisle was winless.
4A Boys Regionals will be November 15 and 16 with Provincials on November 22 and 23.
The 4A West Region tournament will be at Martensville with NB John Paul II, LaLoche, Sakaskohc, Meadow Lake and Kindersley.
5A Boys: Regionals were held on November 9 with Provincials on November 15 and 16.
The 5A Boys Region tournament was hosted by Lloydminster with Warman, NB Comp, PA Carlton and PA St.Mary. Warman was 1-3 with a win over NB Comp 25-18, 25-9.
