Warman Fire Rescue (WFR) and Warman RCMP members responded to a report of an oil spill on Highway 11 at the CN Railway overpass at Warman shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. Initial reports suggest a truck may have lost its gear box while travelling on the highway, and one or more vehicles following behind the truck damaged their oil pans as a result of hitting the gear box. The resulting oil spill covered a portion of the northbound lanes of the highway at the overpass. Traffic was restricted on the northbound lanes of Highway 11 while WFR members worked to clean up the spill. The WFR members cleared the scene at about 5:15 p.m. and both lanes of the highway were re-opened at that time.
