To accommodate current and future growth, the City of Saskatoon has been working on the reconstruction of Neault Road.
Neault Road (the south section of the Dalmeny Grid on Saskatoon’s western boundary with Corman Park) will be closed between 22nd and 33rd streets starting Thursday, May 2 at 9:00 a.m. as construction resumes on the two new southbound lanes.
Detours will be in place guiding motorists around the work zone. This phase of the project is expected to take two months to complete. For more information about current road restrictions and construction, visit saskatoon.ca/construction.
Calls of Note Report
On April 6 at 9:30 a.m., CPPS attempted to stop a vehicle on Township Road (TWP) 382 near Ranage Road (RR) 3044 for an expired license plate. The vehicle fled and was left abandoned near the river along TWP 382. One occupant was located a short time later. Police conducted a K9 track, however the other individuals from the vehicle were not located. The investigation is continuing.
On April 26 at 4:40 p.m. CPPS received a complaint of trespassing and theft of property from a rural location located in Division 1. CPPS had observed a person known to police with the items the day before and attended to a residence in Saskatoon with Saskatoon RCMP where a male was taken into custody without incident and is now facing charges of possession of stolen property and trespassing. The property was recovered.
On April 27 at 5:05 p.m. CPPS conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 219 near Cartwright Street to check the driver’s sobriety. Open alcohol was found in the vehicle. A passenger, provided a false name, and while attempting to take the male into custody for obstruction, a struggle ensued, resulting in the male being pepper sprayed. He was found to have active warrants out of the Maidstone RCMP for driving while prohibited and failing to attend court as well as conditions not to possess or consume alcohol or drug. He now has new charges of obstruction, resisting arrest, and failing to comply with the condition of an Undertaking as a result of his actions.
On April 28 at 8:50 p.m. RCMP dispatched a call of an impaired driver on RR 3042 near TWP 364. CPPS intercepted the vehicle and found the driver to be displaying signs of alcohol impairment. The driver provided a breath sample resulting in a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where they provided breath samples resulting in readings of 140 mgs% and 130 mgs%. The driver was charged with drive over 80 mgs%, impaired operation and was released for a future court date in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
On April29, at 7:50 a.m., CPPS did conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for travelling at 129 km/hr in a posted 90 km/hr zone on RR 3062 near Township Road 374. Beverage alcohol was evident on the driver’s breath. An ASD demand was made, resulting in a WARN reading. The female driver was found to be suspended and deemed an unauthorized driver by SGI. Her driver’s licence was suspended for 120 days (new driver), 7 day impoundment, speeding and suspended driving citations were issued as a result.
