Kerry Hilts has been hired as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the RM of Corman Park.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Kerry Hilts as our new CAO,” said Corman Park Reeve Judy Harwood in a news release issued January 8. “This position is key to ensuring our administration has a strong, yet approachable, leader who will work cooperatively towards building a strong, professional team. Corman Park is a very diverse, complex, progressive municipality and we are confident Mr. Hilts’ experience and strong leadership skills will ensure our municipality continues to grow and prosper.”
The new CAO has spent 31 years working in municipal governments in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and most recently as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer with the City of St. Albert, Alberta.
Hilts holds an MBA in Innovation, a Bachelors in Recreation Administration, and a Diploma in Public Sector Management.
His career has produced a forward-thinking, results-oriented leader with a breadth of experience in strategic and operational planning, service delivery, financial and resource stewardship, and brings a ‘yes, if and can do’ attitude to the position. He has excellent relationship building skills at all levels and believes strongly in collaboration.
Hilts said he is excited at the prospect of serving the RM of Corman Park and is eager to get started.
“Having the opportunity to return home to Saskatchewan is so incredibly special,” said Hilts in the news release. “I did not think this day would happen. The RM of Corman Park presents tremendous opportunity and I am honoured to take on this role.
“I look forward to working with council and staff on many diverse and challenging initiatives in the coming years.”
Hilts will commence his new role officially on February 8, 2024. He is currently working to understand Corman Park Council’s priorities and is expected to connect with the municipal administration staff soon.
Reeve Harwood also expressed Corman Park Council’s extreme gratitude to Corman Park Director of Planning and Development Jim Charlebois, for his service to the RM as the Acting Chief Administrative Officer for the past several months.
“Jim stepped into the role on short notice and has led our Council and the staff with dedication and integrity,” said Harwood. “He implemented an effective interim leadership approach and, through the support from many internal leaders, services and priorities, continued uninterrupted. We want him and all the RM to know how much we appreciate all he has done.” Charlebois will continue to lead in his role of Director of Planning and Development.
