Team Sask came away with a convincing 51-14 win in the 3rd Annual Challenge Cup played in Shoal Lake, Manitoba on Monday May 22.
The all-star game features the best graduating high school players from 9 aside football programs in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Challenge Cup was created as a replacement for the Saskota Bowl, which originally saw Team Sask play against an all-star team from North Dakota.
The inaugural game was played in 2019 with Saskatchewan winning 22-0. There was a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. In 2022 Saskatchewan won a close one 24-16.
The 30 players and eight coaches for Team Sask had a training camp in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan on May 19-21 before heading to the all-star game in Manitoba.
Zaden Taylor and Tobin Kirkness of the Delisle Rebels played important roles in the win. Taylor was named Saskatchewan’s Top Defensive player.
