Rental rates at Martensville civic facilities are set to rise by about two per cent annually for the next five years.

Martensville City Council passed a resolution to set rental and admission rates for the years 2024 through 2028. Setting rates for multiple years allows the municipality cover anticipated inflationary increases in operational costs and helps user groups budget and set registration rates for future years.

Martensville City Council last set five-year rental rate schedules in 2019 to cover the five year period up to and including 2023. However, rates were frozen at 2019 levels in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and were adjusted again in 2021.

Incremental increases to facility admission rates were also approved by council at the May 16 meeting.

An adult single admission to the Martensville Athletic Pavilion will increase from  $8.00 in 2023 to $8.20 in 2024. It will rise 20 cents annually until it hits $9.00 in 2028.

The price of an adult single admission to the Martensville Aquatic Centre is currently set at $10.75 in 2023. It will stay the same price through 2024 and 2025, but will increase to $11.00 in 2026, and stay at $11.00 in 2027 and 2028.

The full schedule for rental rates of facilities, including indoor ice rentals and curling rinks, as well as outdoor recreation venues and sports fields, will be posted on the Martensville civic website.
