Warman Arts Centre is celebrating spring with a new show in the Gallery. “Prairie Seasons” is a showcase of Saskatchewan art; from farmer’s fields to boreal forests and lakes, each painting demonstrates why this province’s motto is “Land of Living Skies”.
Artist, Martie (Martha) Giesbrecht, is a local Warman artist who has been drawn to all things art since she was a teenager. Over the last 12 years, she has pursued her craft more seriously by learning from other artists and countless hours of practising. Her landscapes are a combination of realism and impressionism with the use of loose brush strokes and contrasting paints. Each painting in the show has special memories attached to it, either from summers at the lake or drives through the country. She hopes that the viewers of the show will experience nostalgia and memories from their own life experiences as well.
“Prairie Seasons” art show is free for the public to view: Mon – Fri 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be displayed at the Gallery until the end of May. Alternative viewing times can also be made by contacting the Arts Centre at warmanartscentre@gmail.com.
