When the signs of spring start to appear and the weather gets warmer, drivers can let their guard down. This season is a great time to brush up on your safe driving skills and remind yourself of the dangers that can occur on the road as the warmer months approach!
1 – Avoid driving through large puddles. Although they may look harmless, large puddles must be taken seriously when you’re behind the wheel. Slow down when driving on roads with large amounts of standing water as they can cause you to lose control.
2 – Be on the lookout for potholes. Those that were hanging around last summer are likely still there, and the spring thaw has probably caused some new ones to pop up. Watch for potholes…You will also save money by not having to repair any pothole damage to your vehicle!
3- Watch your speed, no matter what the weather! Some drivers see the mercury climbing above zero as a sign to let the needle on their speedometer reach new heights. Not so fast! Good weather isn’t a green light to put the pedal to the metal. Keep your speed down as spring roads can be full of surprises.
