The Delisle Chiefs have seen some important changes in the coaching staff since their departure from the 2022 playoffs.
One of the biggest is the departure of Assistant Coach Ryan Pilon who has accepted the job as the new head coach of the Estevan U18AAA Bears.
The Chiefs were fortunate to have Brennan Hall accept the job as the Chiefs new Assistant Coach to replace Pilon. Hall will also have the role as Assistant General Manager .
Hall is very experienced as he had built a successful program in the Prairie Junior Hockey League’s Carrot River franchise as their General Manager. With a move back to Saskatoon accepting the positions with Delisle allows him the maintain involvement with the PJHL.
“I think both my experience with business and the hockey world combined is my biggest asset that I will bring to the Chiefs”, said Hall. “It will allow me to do exactly what the organization wants me to do and allow me to help market the team. My hockey knowledge and experience will allow me to help recruit and guide the Hockey Ops alongside Head Coach and GM, Eric Ditto.”
Ditto looks forward working together with Hall.
“I’m very excited to work alongside Brennan as someone who has the same goals as we do and that’s to build a championship team”, said Ditto. “He did an amazing job with the Carrot River Thunder. He took over a team going through a rough patch and turned them around very quickly. He built a team who, in my opinion was one of the best in the league.”
The Chiefs will begin building the future as they get set to host their Spring Camp in Saskatoon on May 13-14. The camp is open to all players born between 2002 and 2005. The date to officially sign players is June 1 so the camp will a chance to see prospects in action, establish relationships and build a scouting report for the future players.
With some veteran players leaving the 2022-23 team could look much different.
