Jake Reimer was born in Osler, SK on January 8, 1937, the 3rd of 8 children born to Jacob and Maria Reimer. He grew up on a farm outside the Martensville area. As a young man Jake worked as a farm hand for many local farmers, he was known as a very hard worker. When Jake was 23 he met the love of his life, Margaret Wiebe, they were married October 13, 1963 and were blessed with two children Richard and Barbara. In 1970 Jake and Margaret started the family farm located outside of Langham. In 1979 they sold the family farm and moved to Osler. Jake started full time work with Weldon’s Concrete until he retired at age 69. Jake was baptized upon confession of his faith on June 6, 1960. Jake enjoyed attending church and reading his Bible, he understood the power of prayer. In 1993 the family cabin at Delaronde Lake was purchased. He loved spending time at the cabin with Margaret and his family chopping firewood, fishing, and taking many walks to the creek with his grandchildren. Family was of the highest importance to him and always sought to have the children and grandchildren around as much as possible. He also enjoyed travelling with his wife to many locations around the world and many bus trips. During retirements years he enjoyed volunteering his time. He spent multiple winters in Arizona volunteering at Sunshine Acres Orphanage as a kitchen staff, as well as countless summers in the kitchen at Ranger Lake Bible Camp. On Feb 11, 2022, Jake was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and battled for the last 8 weeks of his life without so much as a complaint. He always expressed thankfulness for all the visitors he received. On April 9, 2022 at 1:17am, Jake entered eternal glory. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Margaret, son Richard (Marlene), granddaughter Ashley Roy (Cody), great grandchildren Aiden & Lainey, grandson Tanner, daughter Barbara (Kirk Boon), granddaughter Kim, great grandson Ben and grandson Steve. A huge thanks for the care at the Hospice at Glengarda 301 Hilliard St E, Saskatoon, https://www.stpaulshospital.org/foundation/campaign/ the wonderful staff who took such passionate care of Jake, laughed with us, cried with us, and were so supportive. The staff who came to play guitars and sing several times a week were a huge highlight for him. A special thanks to the kitchen staff and chef who heard Jake requested rhubarb pie and came through with the best pie just for him. The family thanks all those that prayed for us during this difficult time. A public viewing took place on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 7:00pm at Dalmeny Funeral Home. A Celebration Of Life Service took place at Osler Mission Chapel on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00am.
