Teams from Langham and Aberdeen competed in the girl’s provincial championships held in Fox Valley on March 11 and 12.
They had earned a berth to the provincials after qualifying from the Regional Tournament held at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club on March 4-5.
At the regionals Aberdeen won the ‘A’ event with wins over Lanigan 12-4 , Naicam 14-0, and Langham2 8-7.
Langham2 had reached the A final with wins over Meath Park 7-2 and Wadena 7-6.
Langham1 dropped to the B event with a 1-5 loss to Wadena. They then hit their stride and advanced to the B final with wins over Meath Park 16-1, Naicam 15-0 and Wadena 8-3.
This set up an all-Langham final with Langham1 coming out on top 12-4 to earn the second qualifying spot to the provincials.
Langham1 continued their great play for a second weekend in a row as they won the provincial silver medal.
The team was undefeated in pool A play with wins over Saskatoon Evan Hardy 13-4, Carnduff 7-6 and Assiniboia 6-5. In the playoff semi-final they defeated St. Walburg 6-3. They lost to Wawota 7-3 in the finals.
Carnduff defeated St. Walburg 10-6 in the bronze medal game.
Aberdeen battled hard in pool B play with close losses to St. Walburg 6-5, Wawota 5-3 and ended the day with a 10-1 win over Fox Valley.
