The Aberdeen Recreation Complex and Event Centre was the place to be last weekend.

Many of the province’s top curlers were in the spotlight there as Sask Curl held its Senior Provincial tournament March 2 to 6.

Familiar faces won the women’s championship as Team Anderson went undefeated during round robin play and topped it off with a 6-3 win over Team Streifel in the finals.

This win makes it six Provincial Championships in a row for Sherry Anderson.  This equals a feat accomplished by Regina’s Evelyn Krahn, who won six in a row from 1982-87.

With the win the Anderson rink will look to add to their already impressive accomplishments.

They have won a record four-straight Canadian Seniors Curling Championships in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. They also won a gold medal for Canada at the 2018 and 2019 World Senior Championships.

On the men’s side Regina’s Randy Bryden bested reigning champion Darrel McKee in the final.

Bryden lost 9-1 to McKee in the 1-2 Page playoff game. After beating Team Humble in the semi-finals the rematch would be much different as the Regina foursome came away with a 7-3 victory.
