On Feb 5, Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) and Dalmeny Police Service conducted a checkstop on Mierau Road, at the south access to Warman. One driver was charged with Impaired driving/ Drive over .08 while four other motorists faced roadside suspensions for alcohol and cannabis offences, including a 60 day suspension for being a new driver testing positive for THC. CPPS will continue to conduct enforcement and education events such as these in order to make RM roadways safe for those who use them.
On February 2, at approximately 11;30 pm, CPPS officers were informed that a red Pontiac Grand Am had just been stolen out of Saskatoon. Officers were in Martensville area at the time, observed a red Pontiac Grand Am driving south-bound on Centennial Drive. Officers followed the vehicle while confirming the licence plate information for the vehicle reported stolen. The driver pulled into the 7-11 and was apprehended without incident.
A male adult was charged with Theft of a motor vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property and Driving while suspended. He will appear in court at a later date.
On Feb 4 at 10:17 hrs, CPPS officers observed a white 2019 Hyundai Tucson with a permit and a damaged rear end, parked in the eastbound driving lane of Mierau Road near Highway 11. A traffic stop was conducted and a passenger was found to have two active warrants out of Prince Albert for multiple firearm and theft related charges. While effecting the arrest, open alcohol was observed in plain view of police. A search of the vehicle was conducted where cannabis, alcohol, and a small bag of Meth with blue pills were located.
Two adults in the vehicle were charged, one with alcohol and cannabis offences, and the other with a criminal drug charge. They will appear in court at a later date.
