On the night of Friday, November 5, Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) members spotted a vehicle that appeared to be trying to race another vehicle on the west side of Martensville. The driver was clocked at 170km/h on Highway 12 and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) and was arrested. During the arrest a significant amount of cash along with cocaine was located on the drivers person. The driver was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and turned over to the Martensville RCMP pending further investigation. His vehicle was impounded due to the excessive speed. CPPS would like to thank the Martensville RCMP for their invaluable support with this investigation.

On the evening of Thursday, November 4, a CPPS member on patrol received a hit for a wanted person associated to a vehicle that passed by and registered on the patrol unit’s automatic license plate reader. The member attempted to turn around and execute a traffic stop. However, the vehicle fled into a residential area on the south end of Martensville.

Approximately 20 minutes later the vehicle was spotted by CPPS driving left of centre on Range Road 3054 south of Martensville. A traffic stop was executed and the driver was arrested for outstanding warrants from SPS for drug trafficking. The driver showed signs of impairment and provided a breath sample into an ASD resulting in a WARN.

The driver was issued a 72 hour license suspension and the vehicle was impounded for three days. The driver is also facing new charges of breach of conditions x2, possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and ecstasy, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving left of centre. The driver was transported to SPS headquarters and held for court to answer to the drug trafficking charges.
