tThe City of Warman is going forward with the purchase of the former Clothing Obsession building at 103 Central Street. The property will be the site of future expansions of both Warman City Hall and the Warman RCMP detachment building.

Warman City Council voted at its August 24 meeting to proceed with the purchase of the property for $640,000, and a possession date of October 1, 2026. The market value of the property, which formed the basis for the city’s offer to purchase, was determined  by an independent third-party appraiser

The city will also cover the cost of demolition of the existing building. An estimate of the demolition price tag has not yet been determined.

In a report to the Warman City Council committee of the whole meeting on Monday, August 17, city administration noted the city has been in discussions with the owner of the property since the announcement that the Clothing Obsession store was closing. The city administration identified the adjacent property as an opportunity to support the city’s long-term facility needs.

Design work for the planned expansions of City Hall and the RCMP Detachment building is currently underway. The expansion of City Hall is anticipated for 2027, while the RCMP building is slated for expansion in 2029. Both expansions are aimed at accommodating increased operational requirements as the city grows.
